Austin is a historic mining town and is proud of its heritage. Situated at the geographic center of the state, on Highway 50 "The Loneliest Road in America, with 11 buildings & sites on the National Historic registry, which include historic churches, the Courthouse, cemetery, and Stokes Castle. To the east, you can see ancient figures up to 3000 years old carved into the rocks at Toquima Caves and Hickson Petroglyphs.
Great hunting, fishing, and camping opportunities abound. Nestled in the Toiyabe Mountain Range, we offer all amenities. We offer unlimited outdoor recreation. Visitors can explore the landscape; unique shops explore mountain bike trails or visit historical locations.
