About Us

Nevada Health Centers, Inc. (NVHC), a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) CHC program that is funded under Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act, as described above. This federal funding is provided for both its Community Health Center (CHC) program and its Health Care for the Homeless (HCH) program in Las Vegas. NVHC is also an FTCA Deemed facility.

For the first 18 years of its existence, NVHC was a public entity, a consortium of counties known as Central Nevada Rural Health Consortium, originally incorporated in late 1976. It became one of the first federally funded CHCs in 1977, as authorized under the Public Health Service Act of 1976. In 1994, the organization’s name was changed to Nevada Rural Health Centers, Inc., and it became a private, not-for-profit corporation. In 2001, the organization’s name was changed to Nevada Health Centers, Inc. to better represent the organization’s mission.
