About L.A.S.S.O.
L.A.S.S.O.
L.A.S.S.O. (Local Animal Shelter Support Organization) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Elko, Nevada, dedicated to supporting the Elko Animal Shelter's vital initiatives. Our mission centers around combating animal overpopulation through fundraising efforts, grants, and donations. Central to our work is the Dumkee Weeks Spay/Neuter Clinic, which we built and sustain with the help of generous contributions. Through this clinic, we prioritize preventive measures to reduce the number of homeless pets in our community and alleviate strain on local resources.
Since 2005, the Elko Animal Shelter has been a lifeline for surrendered and stray animals from Elko County, including Wells and Spring Creek. With our support, including the construction of the Spay/Neuter facility in 2010, approximately 8,000 shelter animals have received necessary spaying/neutering procedures. Our commitment to the shelter extends beyond infrastructure; we actively promote animal welfare projects aimed at enhancing the lives of animals in our community and beyond.
At L.A.S.S.O., our dedicated medical team, comprised of skilled veterinarians and vet techs, works tirelessly to ensure the health and well-being of animals adopted from the Elko Animal Shelter. With state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, we provide comprehensive care, including spaying/neutering, vaccinations, and microchipping for identification. Our team's unwavering dedication ensures that every animal receives the highest quality of care and attention.
