Event Description
Family Resource Center is hosting a FREE Healthy Teens program for teens in 5th grade-7th grade (ages 10-12). Held at the FRC, 331 7th St. in Elko on Wednesday, Oct. 28th & Thursday, Oct. 29th from 4-7pm both days. Youth must attend BOTH DAYS of class to receive free incentives. Permission slips are required, signed by parent/guardian before class. For planning purposes, please pre-register: call 753-7352, text 397-1874, or email teenhealth@elkofrc.org.
Teens who attend the full session of the program will receive their choice of a FREE incentive, either a backpack filled with school supplies OR a $25 store gift card. **One free incentive allowed per child per year.**

Details
"Promoting Health Among Teens" is a lively, evidence-based, age appropriate program, proven effective in reducing the risk of sexually transmitted infections, HIV/AIDS, and teen pregnancy. This program incorporates medically accurate information along with crucial knowledge on how to identify and handle social pressures. Youth learn about adolescence, hygiene, responsibility, avoiding risky behaviors, and build knowledge and confidence.

We will be observing the following safety precautions:
• Limit 10 students per class.
• 6 feet distance maintained.
• Each student will be seated at their own table.
• Frequent sanitizing and disinfection of work areas and class materials.
• Educator will be masked. Masks are encouraged for students and can be provided if the student does not have their own.
• Hand sanitizer provided.
• Verbal questionnaire on COVID-19 risk and temperature check prior to class.
