The Family Resource Center is hosting a FREE Healthy Teens program for youth in 5th grade-7th grade (ages 10-12). Held at FRC, 331 7th St. in Elko on Saturday, Aug. 24th from 9am-4pm. Lunch will be provided for attendees. Permission slips are required, signed by parent/guardian before class. Those who attend the full session of the program will receive their choice of a free backpack filled with school supplies or a $25 store gift card! **One free incentive allowed per child per year**
The "Promoting Health Among Teens" curriculum from ETR.org is a fun, evidence-based, age-appropriate program proven effective in reducing the risk of sexually transmitted infections, HIV/AIDS, and teen pregnancy. This program incorporates medically accurate information and teaches youth how to identify and handle social pressures. Participants learn about reproductive health, adolescence, hygiene, responsibility, healthy relationships, personal safety, and build their knowledge and confidence.
