THE SHERMAN DINNER & AUCTION IS AN EVENT HELD EVERY YEAR TO GENERATE FUNDING FOR THE HOME OF THE ELKO AREA CHAMBER: THE HISTORICAL SHERMAN STATION. THE SHERMAN STATION WAS COMPLETED IN 1903, WITH THE OUTBUILDINGS COMPLETED IN 1880; ALL FUNDS RAISED DURING THE EVENT ARE USED FOR THE RESTORATION AND PRESERVATION, ALONG WITH THE EVERYDAY MAINTENANCE OF THESE HISTORICAL BUILDINGS.
